Mazda 6e (2025): Interior and trunk in detail

A distinctive, yet elegant design, efficient rather than powerful engines, and a base price of €44,900 make the new Mazda 6e very competitive. It's the first 6 with all-electric drivetrains, and what you might not initially expect—the interior of this large, zoom-zoom sedan is also in excellent shape.
We take a detailed look at the interior of the new notchback sedan from Hiroshima.
Mazda 6e: The dashboardThe Mazda 6e's dashboard breaks somewhat with the past, opting for a more modern, clean, and fully digital layout. Instead of the classic arrangement with rotary dials and physical buttons, it now features two large screens: a 10.2" instrument display in front of the driver and a 14.6" touchscreen central display slightly angled toward the driver.
You don't necessarily have to like it, but the reason is clear: The car first debuted in China, is built there in a joint venture with Changan, and the Chinese simply love large screens much more than buttons and controls.
All main functions – from navigation to climate control – are controlled via the central monitor, which also integrates the voice assistant and wireless compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
Most of the dashboard and center console are completely free and simple. We see elegant air vents and a touch of chrome. Also good: the head-up display with augmented reality function, which projects the most important driving information onto a 50-inch virtual surface, creating a three-dimensional effect. A clever addition: the "Snow Mode," which improves readability in white weather with a blue backlight.
Mazda 6e: Materials and workmanshipEven from the pictures, it's quickly clear that Mazda is placing a strong emphasis on perceived quality with the 6e. The strikingly contoured seats are upholstered in nappa leather with stylish quilting. Three different colors are available. The door panels, dashboard, and floating center console also appear surprisingly sophisticated thanks to leather, Alcantara, soft-touch materials, and satin-finished metal inserts.

The ambient lighting with 64 colors and the Sony audio system with 14 speakers are intended to create an even more lounge atmosphere.
Mazda 6e: Space and trunkThe generous wheelbase of 2.90 m and its all-electric architecture give the 6e extremely usable space. The rear seats are also extremely comfortable thanks to a wide bench seat and above-average legroom.

Rear passengers also enjoy their own touchscreen, which they can use to control the climate control. If the front passenger seat is unoccupied, it can be pushed forward to create additional space.
