Intax turns the new BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring into a taxi

The new BYD Seal 6 DM-i Touring has recently been launched and is also being made available for use in the taxi and rental car business. Oldenburg-based conversion specialist Intax is developing suitable packages for this purpose on behalf of BYD Germany.
The conversions include, among other things, pre-installation for a taximeter or odometer, an emergency alarm system, vehicle wrapping, and roof logos. All measures are retrofittable, allowing the vehicles to remain flexible for later resale. At the same time, the full manufacturer's warranty applies, as Intax relies on proven standards. All model variants come standard with a six-year manufacturer's warranty and an eight-year warranty on the powertrain and battery.
The 4.84-meter-long Seal 6 DM-i Touring boasts features that make it attractive for professional use. As a station wagon, it offers plenty of space for passengers and luggage. Thanks to modern plug-in hybrid technology, it operates locally emission-free in city traffic and achieves a long range over longer distances. The model thus combines sustainability with practicality, which is particularly advantageous for taxi and rental car companies.
We also pointed out in our first driving report of the BYD that with a combined range of over 1,300 kilometers, it is actually predestined for taxi operations.
The Seal 6 DM-i Touring, with the larger of the two installed Blade batteries, achieves a purely electric range of up to 100 kilometers. Thanks to the intelligent control of the systems (the "i" in DM-i), it achieves a combined fuel consumption of just 1.5 liters per 100 kilometers and an impressive total range of up to 1,350 kilometers with a full battery and a full tank, according to the manufacturer.

All versions accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in under nine seconds and reach a top speed of 180 km/h. And the price? It starts at €42,990 in Germany with already excellent standard equipment, but without the DC charging option. This is only included starting with the "Comfort Lite" trim for €48,990, and the top "Comfort" trim costs another €1,000 more.
The Seal 6 is not yet available with the corresponding taxi equipment. However, the conversion packages, developed and implemented directly at Intax's Oldenburg-based production taxi factory, are expected to be available soon.
