Information on WEC Bahrain 2025: schedule, livestream, starting list and more.

(Motorsport-Total.com) - Every year, the WEC celebrates its traditional season finale at the Bahrain International Circuit. The championship decisions will be made during the 8-hour race, while Sunday's program includes the rookie test and the season-ending party at a nearby hotel.

The World Championship in the WEC is traditionally decided under the floodlights of Bahrain's Zoom circuit.

Toyota has been undefeated in the desert since 2017, but hasn't won a single race in 2025. One of these two streaks is bound to end in ás-Sakhir.

The race starts in daylight and continues into the night, meaning conditions change drastically during the race. The asphalt temperature can drop by 20 degrees or more between the start and the checkered flag.

Schedule 8h Bahrain 2025 (all times CET)

After several races at all sorts of times, the final is once again in a time zone convenient for Central Europeans. Since, as always, the race runs into the night, from a German perspective it will take place from midday until early evening. Two hours must be added for local time.

Sport1's live stream is the only way for viewers in Germany to watch the entire race for free, from start to finish. Most TV channels are foregoing free-to-air broadcasts; only Sport1 is showing the initial stages of the race on linear TV free of charge.

Eurosport is once again moving the race to its pay-TV channel Eurosport 2, and even there there will be an interruption. So anyone wanting to watch the full eight hours without a break will have to resort to streaming.

In addition to the free Sport1 stream, there are paid options, most notably in the Eurosport media library/Discovery+ (formerly Eurosport Player) or the official WEC live stream on fiawec.tv. Qualifying is also broadcast live and in full on these channels. The Eurosport offering is also available via DAZN.

As usual, the WEC will stream the third free practice session live and free of charge on its YouTube channel . Live timing is available on WEC TV .

Starting list for the 8h Bahrain 2025

There are numerous changes for the finale in Bahrain. Laurin Heinrich will drive the #5 Porsche as the third driver. The former DTM driver and 2024 IMSA GTD Pro champion impressed during two GTP tests at Road Atlanta and is now being given the chance by Porsche to prove himself in the race – just before Porsche's planned withdrawal from the WEC .

Michael Christensen misses out on the final at Porsche due to Heinrich's start ; in car #6, Matt Campbell will be the third driver, as he was in Qatar, Imola, Le Mans and Austin.

Other Hypercar teams that opted for only two drivers in the 2025 season are also fielding three drivers for the longer race. Aston Martin will see their usual backup drivers Ross Gunn and Roman De Angelis return. This marks only the third time the Aston Martin Valkyrie has competed with three drivers in the WEC, following Qatar and Le Mans.

As announced, Theo Pourchaire will make his WEC debut for Peugeot, replacing Stoffel Vandoorne. There's a surprising turn of events surrounding the Belgian driver, who had previously announced his departure from Peugeot but is now set to return in 2026 due to Jean-Eric Vergne's exit from the team. There are no changes in the LMGT3 class.

Weather forecast, as of November 4, 2025

The weather at the Bahrain International Circuit is warm for this time of year. Currently, everything indicates that temperatures will reach 30 degrees Celsius every day. In the evening, it will drop back to around 23 degrees. Rain, like on the 2023 practice day, is not expected.

On this tire-shredding circuit, tire management plays a crucial role in the opening hours of the race. All teams will need to hold back a fresh set of tires in case of a late safety car deployment. The 2024 race clearly demonstrated the necessity of this. Therefore, double stints will be required at the start, in the hottest conditions.

The wind is coming from a northerly to northwesterly direction with a constant breeze of between ten and 20 km/h, meaning that drivers have to fight against the wind on the start-finish straight.
