Formula 1 - track debut for the 2025 Formula 1 Alpine! How did the first outing go for Gasly & Doohan?

The 2025 Formula 1 season is gaining momentum. After the premiere of the joint F1 launch event in London and the first vehicle presentations by Ferrari , Aston Martin and Mercedes , Alpine has now also shown its new racing car for the coming season, the A525. The racing drivers Pierre Gasly and Jack Doohan completed the first laps with their new company car on the Bahrain International Circuit.
"It was only a shakedown, so a limited number of kilometres, so we couldn't drive the car to its full potential, but the first feeling was good," said Pierre Gasly . "I'm looking forward to getting going properly and doing a proper run later this week."
F1 rookie Jack Doohan: First encounter with film cars!As part of the first of two permitted filming days this season, the two drivers were allowed to drive 200 kilometers together. "It's the first time I've taken part in a shakedown day," revealed F1 rookie Jack Doohan . "It was a great experience, especially when I was on the track with the film cars!"
Both drivers drew a positive conclusion, as far as this is possible given the limited number of kilometers. However, the car has felt good so far. On Wednesday, February 26, things will get serious for Alpine and the other nine teams: the first of three test days before the start of the season in Australia will begin at the same location in Bahrain .

Alpine team boss Oliver Oakes: Proud of new racing car"It will be three busy days in which we have to go through a lot of things to develop the A525 for the start of the season," said Doohan, aware of the tasks ahead. The Australian will begin testing on Wednesday morning before Gasly takes over the wheel of the A525 in the afternoon. On Thursday, the team will reverse the order of the two drivers and keep it the same on Friday - provided the test plans do not change.
"It's always a source of pride when a new car goes on track for the first time," said team boss Oliver Oakes . Despite cloudy skies and strong gusts of wind, the team had a good day. "It's important that both [drivers, ed.] complete a first test and get a first feel for the car before three grueling days of testing later in the week. There are certainly still some areas where we can learn and develop and we look forward to continuing the hard work on Wednesday."
The Alpine was not the first 2025 Formula 1 racing car to complete a shakedown before the official F1 test in Bahrain. In addition to Ferrari, Haas and the Racing Bulls were also on the track. In our news video, Christian tells you what technical tricks you could already see:
