Lando Norris leaves Mexico as a big winner. Not only did he dominate the Grand Prix, but he also reclaimed the lead in Formula 1 's World Championship. After his sixth win of the season, he is now one point ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri in the 2025 Drivers' World Championship.

Behind Norris, Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen fought a fierce battle for second place in the closing stages of the race. However, the duel was decided early by a Virtual Safety Car, triggered by Carlos Sainz . Leclerc was able to secure his second place in the final four laps of the race, thus overtaking Ferrari's rival Mercedes in the battle for second place in the Constructors' Championship . Verstappen crossed the finish line just behind him in third.

Third place was also hotly contested. At one point, four drivers were battling for the final podium spot. Ultimately, Haas driver Oliver Bearman couldn't quite match the pace of the leaders, but he still delivered a strong performance. The rookie finished fourth, achieving his best result of the season. Towards the end of the race, he put up a strong defense against McLaren driver Oscar Piastri, having previously held off the two Mercedes drivers , Kimi Antonelli and George Russell . Haas thus overtook Sauber and now occupies eighth place in the Constructors' Championship.

It's therefore no surprise that Bearman was voted "Driver of the Day" by the fans in Mexico. Alongside Bearman and Antonelli, a third rookie also finished in the points: Gabriel Bortoleto finished the final points-scoring position for Sauber . The big loser of the Mexican Grand Prix is Lewis Hamilton . Starting from third on the grid, he received a 10-second penalty for leaving the track while battling Max Verstappen for his place at the start and failing to rejoin the grid correctly. Liam Lawson, Nico Hülkenberg, and Fernando Alonso were forced to retire during the race, and Carlos Sainz triggered a Virtual Safety Car on lap 70.

Oscar Piastri once again had a difficult race. Although he managed to move up from seventh on the grid to fifth, he had to relinquish his World Championship lead to Norris. His attempt to challenge Bearman for fourth place was thwarted by the Virtual Safety Car. Accordingly, Max Verstappen gained further points on the Australian with third place.
