The worst cars to buy revealed: These cars never stop costing

Consumer Reports magazine, a benchmark for consumer reliability, examined the most popular models to reveal which vehicles are most prone to malfunctions and dissatisfaction. The study was based on criteria such as mechanical durability, electronic system failures, recall rates, and user satisfaction.
THE EXPENSES ARE BURNING YOUR POCKETAccording to experts, some cars can develop serious problems within just a few years due to design or manufacturing flaws. These vehicles not only increase repair costs but also rapidly lose their resale value. Therefore, it's crucial for anyone considering a new vehicle to review the brands' reliability reports before making their selection.
7 MODELS ANNOUNCEDAlthough new models are introduced to the automotive market every year, some vehicles fail quality and durability tests. Experts say that these vehicles can cause disappointment due to frequent malfunctions, high recall rates, and parts issues. Here are the seven models considered "most problematic" for 2025:
FORD ESCAPE HYBRID 2025Despite its fuel economy advantages, the Ford Escape Hybrid has fallen short in terms of durability. Earlier this year, more than 20,000 vehicles were recalled due to battery manufacturing defects, oil leaks, and rearview camera issues. Furthermore, interior plastic trim and poor-quality upholstery hinder the vehicle's longevity.
NISSAN PATHFINDER 2025The Nissan Pathfinder is known for its chronic transmission issues and timing chain failures. While the new-generation model features a nine-speed automatic transmission, performance and suspension issues persist. Poor steering feel and lack of grip on rough surfaces make the vehicle unsuitable for long journeys.
MERCEDES-BENZ GLC 2025Despite its luxury segment, the Mercedes-Benz GLC was the subject of a major recall this year for 90,000 vehicles due to a rear shock absorber defect. Drivers also frequently complained about delayed braking response in some models. Users also complained about the complex nature of the infotainment system.
CHRYSLER PACIFICA HYBRID 2025The popular family vehicle, the Pacifica, has been among the most frequently recalled models in recent years. 250,000 vehicles produced between 2022 and 2025 were recalled due to side airbag malfunctions. Furthermore, the reduced second-row seating significantly reduces comfort.
CHEVROLET BLAZER EV 2025While the electric Blazer has improved performance, a fault has been detected in the parking brake electronics and wiring. Drivers are complaining that the vehicle fails to shift gears while the parking warning is sounding. This can lead to serious safety and handling issues.
VOLKSWAGEN JETTA 2025Despite its stylish design, the Jetta has been criticized for its lack of equipment. The use of hard plastics in the interior and the underpowered 1.5-liter engine have caused the model to lag behind its competitors. Furthermore, a manual transmission is only available on the GLI, limiting customer choice.
MERCEDES-BENZ C-SERIES 2025The new C-Class also suffers from a delay in the braking system. Some drivers report that the automatic braking system activates suddenly, increasing the risk of an accident. Steering response is weak, and the rear compartment is inadequate for comfort on long journeys.
