Mohammed Ben Sulayem to run for FIA presidency again

Ben Sulayem, who has been the FIA president since 2021, will be running for re-election at the General Assembly to be held in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, on December 12. Announcing his campaign with the slogan "FIA For Members," Ben Sulayem conveyed the message, "Much has been done, more remains to be done."
Ben Sulayem's list includes Fabiana Ecclestone, Anna Nordkvist, Manuel Avino Roger, Lung-Nien Lee, Rodrigo Ferreira Rocha, Sheikh Abdulla bin Isa Al Khalifa and Daniel Coen as regional vice presidents.
Additionally, Carmelo Sanz de Barros, Tim Shearman and Malcolm Wilson were retained to retain their current roles.
His rival, Tim Mayer, had announced his “FIA Forward” campaign in the summer but had yet to announce his team. Therefore, Ben Sulayem’s strong support was evident through letters from member clubs, particularly in MENA and the Americas.
During the selection process, Ben Sulayem highlighted projects such as the global karting plan, support for local crossover car production, digital management tools and the Centre of Excellence for the FIA Stewards Department.
He also stated that completing the Concorde Agreement was his top priority.
"We have transformed the FIA into a modern, dynamic organization that leads in global matters. Now we want to complete the work we started with the members' decision," Ben Sulayem said, emphasizing that the election race belongs to the members.
