It doubles the life of a car's engine: It turns out it's very simple.

Remote start, a common feature in vehicles, allows the engine to be started without the driver taking the wheel. However, experts say this habit isn't as beneficial as it seems. It's been reported that engine parts are subjected to high friction without proper lubrication during start-up, significantly shortening engine life.

CAN BE DISABLED WITH A BUTTON

The system, which automatically starts and stops the engine, can be disabled by using the button bearing the letter "A" and a circular arrow symbol on the instrument panel. Disabling this feature is recommended to extend engine life.

OPERATION WITHOUT OIL DISTRIBUTION INCREASES WEAR

It's been noted that during the first few minutes of engine start-up, the oil isn't distributed evenly, causing increased wear on parts. It's also been noted that remote starts, especially in cold weather, put more strain on the engine.

MAY REQUIRE COSTLY REPAIRS

Remote start systems are generally preferred in SUVs and crossovers. However, wear and tear caused by this feature can lead to costs ranging from 80,000 to 150,000 lira in the future.

THE MOST CORRECT METHOD

According to experts, the safest method is for the driver to start the engine themselves and drive straight away. This allows the oil to be absorbed quickly, components are protected evenly, and engine life can be doubled.
