Hamilton on race engineer Adami: 'There is no problem between us'

Hamilton on race engineer Adami: 'There is no problem between us'

Lewis Hamilton has clarified the technical directives and the allegations regarding his communication with race engineer Riccardo Adami during his press conference in Barcelona.

Hamilton, who stated that their radio conversations after the Monaco GP were exaggerated in the media, emphasized that there is no problem between them: “We get along very well. People make speculations but most of it is nonsense. We work together to win and like in every relationship we sometimes have disagreements. But there is no problem between us.”

Hamilton, on the other hand, was clear about the new front wing flexibility directives: “The flexible wings were a band-aid to cover up a poorly designed technical period. It is difficult to close this gap with the car set-up but the engineers are trying to overcome it. We will see the impact on the teams this weekend.” Hamilton argued that the flexibility limitation had a negative impact on driving pleasure.

Hamilton, who was also cautious about Toto Wolff's comments that Ferrari would benefit the most from this change, said: "It didn't make a difference in the simulator. We don't know how much it will affect us."

Hamilton, who said Barcelona was a special track for Formula 1, was cautious about his plans for the Madrid GP: "It would be a shame to lose the classic tracks but it is important to have a race in Spain. New tracks often do not meet expectations, so it has to be a good track."
