German automaker recalls 145,000 vehicles

German automotive giant BMW has issued a recall for more than 145,000 vehicles in the United States. The recall stems from a potential overheating risk caused by electrical overloads in the vehicles' starter motors.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said in a statement that the decision was made to protect driver safety. BMW announced that the affected vehicles will be inspected at the dealership free of charge and any necessary repairs will be made.
