F2 Spain qualifying: Lindblad on pole, Montoya second

Arvid Lindblad was the fastest with a final lap of 1:25.180, beating Sebastian Montoya by 0.245 seconds, while DAMS Lucas Oil pilot Kush Maini completed the top three.

Leonardo Fornaroli was fastest on the opening lap of the session with a lap of 1:25.755, 0.150 seconds better than that of Alexander Dunne, who races for Rodin Motorsport.

After the first 10 minutes of the session, the other drivers waiting in the pit area went out onto the track and did their first laps.

Lindblad carried his form from the practice session into qualifying, taking the top spot with a time of 1:25.493.

Ritomo Miyata was third for ART Grand Prix, followed by DAMS’ Jak Crawford, with Dunne completing the top five.

All 22 pilots returned to the track for the final episode, and the timeline saw many developments.

Montoya surged to the top in 1:25.425, but Lindblad responded with a 1:25.180 to retake the lead and give the Campos team their first pole position in Barcelona.

PREMA driver Montoya remained in second place, followed by Maini, while Invicta Racing's Roman Stanek managed to climb to fourth.

Dunne took fifth for Rodin, with MP Motorsport's Richard Verschoor sixth and Crawford seventh. Luke Browning, for Hitech TGR, was eighth. AIX Racing's Joshua Duerksen was ninth, with Fornaroli completing the top 10.
