BYD's jumping, floating and rotating vehicle is in Türkiye
YANGWANG's supersport model, the U9, garnered attention with its acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.36 seconds, while the specially developed Track Edition version achieved a speed of 472.41 km/h in a test conducted in Germany, earning the title of the world's fastest electric supercar. The U9 also took to the stage with its extraordinary capabilities, including jumping, 360-degree rotation (Tank Turn), and dancing, giving the audience a breathtaking show. The off-road version of the YANGWANG U8 also showcased its unique features at the event. Departing from land, entering the local lake, navigating the water for a while before returning to the platform, the YANGWANG U8 received rave reviews from attendees for its 360-degree Tank Turn capability and integrated drone technology.
Detailed analyses were conducted to determine the most suitable site for the historic event, and underwater divers cleared the lake of silt and reeds. Despite the challenging terrain, platform construction continued with determination. Thus, the BYD Turkey team achieved a historic demonstration with an unprecedented event.
YANGWANG U8, the first mass-production model of the YANGWANG brand, is the culmination of BYD's over 20 years of R&D expertise and innovative vision. Offering performance, safety, and advanced technology all in one, the U8 stands out in the luxury SUV segment with its combination of "futuristic technology, exceptional off-road capability, and premium living space." The YANGWANG is based on the BYD ET concept, introduced in 2004. The ET was the world's first introduction to a four-motor independent powertrain. Twenty years later, this vision was brought into mass production with the e4 platform.
BYD Turkey conducted intensive and meticulous preparations for the event, which aimed to showcase BYD's global technological prowess and innovation vision to Turkish consumers. All legal procedures were completed prior to the event, and the vehicles were brought to Türkiye under the strictest secrecy.
Among the standout technologies of the IF Design Award-winning U8 is its swimming ability. This feature allows the vehicle to navigate on water after navigating on land. Another innovative feature, Tank Turn, allows the vehicle to rotate 360 degrees by rotating all four wheels in opposite directions.
