Automotive giant restarts production! Factories will be back in operation

Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) announced that it will gradually restart its production activities, which it halted due to the cyber attack it suffered last month, in the coming days.

Production at the company's three major factories in the West Midlands and Merseyside regions of England came to a complete halt on September 1st following the attack. According to information obtained by the BBC, production will begin first at the Wolverhampton engine plant on October 6th, with other facilities to be phased in.

IT MAY TAKE UP TO A WEEK TO BE IN FULL PRODUCTION

Industry sources say it could take several weeks for production lines to reach full capacity.

In a memo sent to employees on Monday, JLR stated that its recovery program remains steadfast and that the phased restart of production is essential for the safe and smooth commissioning of IT systems. The company had previously announced that production could resume as early as October 1st.

JLR employs approximately 30,000 people in its Solihull, Wolverhampton and Halewood factories in the UK, while the number of employees in its supply chain reaches 100,000.
