Affordable TOGG is coming: The date has been announced

Ali Can Polat The AKP’s new Togg model, the T10F, went on sale yesterday. It was announced that the most economical version of the new Togg model, which the government praised as “local and national” during the election period, has gone on sale for 1,878,000 TL. The most fully loaded version, however, costs up to 3,248,000 TL. Despite being manufactured in Bursa and being introduced as domestic and national, the fact that it is sold at similar prices to similar vehicles imported from China has sparked considerable criticism. Approximately 60 percent of the Turkish population earns minimum wage or around it. To buy the most economical version of Togg’s new T10F, manufactured in Turkey and advertised as “your car” during the election period, a minimum wage earner would need to save up for seven years without spending a dime. The cheapest version is equivalent to 85 months of minimum wage. The same calculation for the most fully loaded package would require 147 months of minimum wage. In other words, if a minimum wage earner wants to buy this domestically produced vehicle in his own country, he has to save for 12 years without spending any money.

CHEAP TOGG WILL COME IN THE ELECTION

While the most underutilized version of Togg's new model falls within the 25 percent tax bracket, this price tag rises to 55 percent for the most fully loaded model. Togg management, recognizing that these vehicles are beyond the public's reach, is targeting 2027 for the "accessible" model. Unless there are early elections, it's almost certain that the aforementioned accessible model will be released before the election and used as an election investment.

PRICE GAME IN THE MANDATORY PACKAGE

It's impossible to buy the 1,878,000 TL TOGG announced for its new model. When you access the brand's app and place an order, you're asked to select a 40,000 TL "Technology and Comfort Package." Choosing this package automatically increases the price to 1,918,000 TL, roughly equivalent to two minimum wages. This means the minimum wage earner will need to work for this vehicle for two months.
