Argentine driver Franco Colapinto suffered an accident during Alpine training on Wednesday, 6, in Hungary, the French team reported on social media.
At 22, the Argentine began the 2025 Formula 1 season as a test driver for the French team. After competing in six Grands Prix, the team decided to give him the starting spot for Australian Jack Doohan , starting at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix in mid-May.

Initially, Colapinto was only scheduled to remain in the race for five races until his situation was reassessed, but he has already been in the running for eight races. So far, his best result has been 13th in Canada, without yet scoring any points in the overall standings.
The last three races have not been favorable for him. After retiring from the British Grand Prix, the young driver finished 18th in Belgium and 19th in Hungary. Colapinto made his official debut in the category a year ago, in August 2024, replacing American Logan Sargeant at Williams.
