Turn signals flashing faster than usual? This could indicate a serious problem

The importance of proper operation of indicators for road safety cannot be overestimated. Less noticeable problems, such as them flashing too quickly, are often considered trivial and ignored. This is a mistake. Failure to react appropriately can lead to very serious consequences.
If the indicators are flashing faster than usual, this should alert the driver. Failure to repair such a defect not only risks a ticket, but also leads to situations on the road that threaten the health and life of all road users.
Why do turn signals flash faster? The most common cause of failure is a blown bulb . This can be a lamp at the front, rear or side of the car. Each of them in the circuit is responsible for the correct load of the interrupter, which regulates the rhythm of the blinkers. A damaged light reduces the load on the circuit and speeds up the work of the system . In this way, the car user receives a signal that something is not working properly.

Sometimes, the culprit is also a damaged relay . In this case, the direction indicators are not working properly. They do not turn on at regular intervals. This does not always mean that the lights are on and off too often. Sometimes, the speed is too slow or the direction indicators do not work at all .
There is also a chance that the current flow is disrupted by problems such as corrosion of the contacts or damaged bulb sockets . The problem also often occurs if the previous lights have been replaced with LEDs.
Flashers too fast. Hazards on the roadThere is probably no need to convince anyone that regardless of its source, such a failure should be repaired as soon as possible . Any disruptions in signaling one's intentions can end in dangerous misunderstandings on the road . We are talking here, for example, about changing lanes or driving through pedestrian crossings.

The consequences can be dire - collisions or pedestrians being hit . In such situations, material losses are the least severe consequence.
How to replace a turn signal bulb?If all you need to do to fix the situation is replace the burnt-out bulb, it’s not that complicated to do it yourself . Here’s what to do:
- first, by turning on the indicators, you should check where exactly the faulty bulb is located,
- you need to prepare a suitable replacement and a matching screwdriver (in case it is necessary to dismantle the reflector),
- after opening the casing, the old device must be turned to the left and gently pulled out, then the new light source must be installed,
- Once the lamp has been replaced, you need to perform a test to make sure the indicators are working properly.
Ignoring lighting faults can be painfully felt in your own pocket during a police check. The fine in such a case is from 100 to 300 PLN . However, in the case of very serious damages, impossible to repair immediately, you may even be fined up to 3000 PLN and your registration certificate may be seized .
