The Junior , a model designed to compete in the B-SUV segment, has become a sales success since its launch last year. This car has allowed the Italian brand to attract younger customers, and it has received more than 2,300 orders in the Spanish market.

Aside from its many attractive features, the Junior is the first Alfa Romeo model to offer a 100% electric version. The conceptual heir to models like the MiTo and Giulietta , it adopts the SUV format that is currently dominating the market. It thus becomes a unique offering from a brand with soul and history.

The trunk space offers an interesting 400 liters of capacity, a very notable figure in its segment.

The electric version, dubbed the Junior Elettrica, is a car that stands out, just as an Alfa Romeo should. At a time when many SUVs look like clones and are sometimes difficult to identify, the Italian brand has given its new electric car a clear and powerful identity. The front end features the classic Scudetto, reinterpreted in the closed version. Meanwhile, the LED headlights display a three-dimensional light signature, creating an aggressive look full of personality.

The Junior's profile displays balanced proportions and muscular lines, typical of a sporty car. It incorporates details reminiscent of previous Alfa models, such as the C-pillar design, inspired by the 147. The rear is crowned by a functional spoiler, which optimizes aerodynamics and reinforces its sporty appearance.

The interior manages to recreate the identity of the brand's most charismatic models. A special focus is placed on a digital instrument cluster, with a wraparound design and various customizable displays. In the center is a 10.25-inch touchscreen, which houses the Uconnect multimedia system.

The dashboard design is understated yet very attractive, thanks to distinctive details such as the circular air vents. Alfa Romeo offers physical controls for managing the climate control, making it easier for the driver to concentrate and focus on the road.

The quality of the materials is a mix of soft, tactile areas combined with hard plastic trim. It can't be classified as premium quality, but it delivers in its segment. The front seats, meanwhile, offer good lateral support, as expected in an Alfa Romeo.

While the vehicle's roominess isn't a strong point, it can be classified as adequate for four people, although for taller individuals, the sloping roofline may create some limitations on seating. The trunk capacity reaches 400 liters, a good figure for the segment. It also features a practical double bottom and hooks for securing cargo.

On the mechanical side, the Junior Elettrica tested by La Vanguardia features a 156 hp electric motor, a figure that translates into optimal performance, with 0-100 km/h acceleration in 8.6 seconds and a feeling of never lacking responsiveness.

The usable battery capacity is 50.8 kWh, and the WLTP-approved range reaches up to 410 km. This means that in real-life conditions, it's possible to travel distances of around 300 km, although during some phases of our test, consumption fell below 16 kWh/100 km, a figure that increases this range to approximately 250 km. This Alfa has a remarkable charging speed, capable of recovering from 20 to 80% of its battery in less than 30 minutes.

Performance and efficiency figures aside, the Junior Elettrica is a car capable of conveying sensations and excitement while driving. It's agile and stable in all circumstances, with excellent response in tight corners and precise steering.

For highly demanding situations, the DNA selector's Dynamic mode modifies torque delivery, throttle response, and steering firmness. Natural mode, meanwhile, makes the Junior a smoother car, ideal for everyday use.

According to the brand's website, this electric car is available on a no-deposit lease, starting at €239 per month. This fee, for private customers in the Iberian Peninsula and the Balearic Islands, applies to the Junior Elettrica Intensa. It is for a 24-month, 20,000-km lease, including the Moves III Plan subsidy without scrapping, for a sum of €4,500.
