The strange saddleless bike to tone almost your entire body

The strange saddleless bike to tone almost your entire body

Elias Juarez

Today, cyclists have multiple options when choosing one type of alternative. However, the one we're presenting today is unusual, as it's not designed for pedaling, but rather to provide the user with an even more complete and intense workout than a traditional bike.

With the curious name of the Shape-Me Bike, this bike takes a different approach to cycling, opening up a completely new perspective. It transforms it into an even more complete workout that can even replace the gym. There's no doubt that conventional cycling has incredible benefits for health, improving physical fitness, and enjoying the outdoors.

But except for professional cyclists or those who ride truly demanding routes, upper body muscles are rarely exercised while cycling. This is the opinion of the engineering firm Ensavid, which is behind the development of the Shape-Me Bike, designed specifically for this type of exercise.

According to this Polish brand, with this approach, even cycling can be improved to offer even more benefits. The Shape-Me incorporates a transmission that is not driven by pedaling, but rather by a pendulum-like motion of the entire body. Instead of a normal saddle, it features a transmission seat post with special mounts.

A pair of foam rollers are placed behind the legs and two more in front, so the cyclist can move the entire pull-up bar with their thighs, rocking their body back and forth to propel themselves forward. Their feet rest on fixed pedals, which are used solely for support.

Ensavid claims that both forward and backward movement generates propulsion, and a specially designed transmission system converts linear motion into rotational force, which drives the rear wheel. All other components are standard, so maintenance and repairs don't differ much from what we might expect on a conventional bike.

While both movements generate propulsion, they offer different benefits because they engage different upper-body muscles. Pushing the bar forward works your back muscles, biceps, and glutes, while pushing it back works your abs, triceps, and pectorals.

In any case, there's still some time left to purchase this unusual bicycle. According to its creators, the international patent is expected to be processed in 2026, and the production version will then begin distribution.
