With increasingly dense cities and rapidly changing urban mobility, the need for agile, sustainable, and versatile vehicles is driving new solutions from all over the world.

In India, one of the global epicenters of electrified light vehicles, a groundbreaking proposal has just been unveiled that offers a unique driving experience.

Called the Ather Redux, it's an electric motorcycle capable of dynamically adapting to the rider's riding style in real time thanks to a variable chassis structure. Developed by Bangalore-based tech startup Ather Energy, the Redux offers a hybrid experience between the comfort of an urban moped and the steadiness of a conventional motorcycle.

This is achieved through an aluminum chassis with variable geometry, which adjusts its configuration based on the rider's posture. The structure is designed to automatically modify its position depending on the rider's position on the seat. If the rider leans forward, the Redux lowers its center of gravity and adopts a sportier, motorcycle-like position.

If the rider remains upright, the vehicle elevates, offering a more relaxed, urban driving experience, more typical of a moped. This mechanism is achieved through a system of hidden joints and pivoting areas integrated into the chassis.

From an aesthetic point of view, the Redux follows the futuristic design of other manufacturers, boasting a clean, angular aesthetic. Its fairings are made from a material called Amflex, a high-performance plastic.

Under the fairing lies a mid-engine, chain-driven electric propulsion system, with a large battery located at the bottom of the vehicle. This approach allows for better weight distribution and a more balanced ride. The absence of the classic central footrest common on mopeds reinforces the motorcycle-like riding position.

The technical details of the Ather Redux, as well as the launch date and estimated price, are still unknown, as it is still in the prototype phase. However, its presentation in the video you can see in this article reflects that India can play a key role in the future of sustainable mobility, not only locally but also in international markets.
