The compact electric bike for shopping in the city

Few cyclists buy a bike based solely on its looks, let alone one intended for everyday use around the city, running errands or going shopping. But aesthetics also matter, so an attractive design can be the added value that ultimately tips the balance when making the decision.
The new Ado Air One Pro, a compact electric cargo bike characterized by its style and sleek appearance, falls into that category. It's worth noting that the manufacturer launched what is now its Air Series in spring 2023, comprised of electric pedal-assist alternatives that share the same design language, the same technological DNA, and the same philosophy of a stylish, high-performance everyday urban vehicle.

Essentially, the new Air One Pro is a cargo bike designed to be modular, ideal for anyone who needs a companion for their daily commute, shopping, taking the kids to school, or just for leisure time.
The bike rides on 20-inch wheels with thick tires and is powered by a 2-speed Bafang motor with automatic shifting that adapts assistance to speed and terrain without direct intervention from the rider.
According to Ado, this translates into 30% more torque at low speeds than single-speed motors, which is very practical when fully loaded with shopping or carrying a child on the back. Two assistance modes will be available to adapt the ride to each situation. Called Eco and Sport, they are designed primarily for flat terrain and hills, respectively.

True to its promise of reliability, quality, and easy maintenance, Ado opts for a belt drive. The brand promises smooth, intuitive, easy, and comfortable driving in any situation with this new model in its catalog.
A 370 Wh battery located in the seat tube offers an estimated range of 80 to 100 km. A range extender is available for an additional 40 to 60 km. Obviously, as with any electric bike, actual range will depend on various factors, including riding style, rider weight and load, and even weather and terrain conditions.

The equipment list includes hydraulic brakes, a suspension fork, and LED lights. The bike is compatible with accessories such as baskets and panniers for a variety of transport needs. Not to be overlooked is the rear rack with a capacity of 60 kg.
Like the rest of the Air series electric bikes, this bike also features Bluetooth connectivity and a dedicated mobile app, allowing you to use your phone to monitor stats, customize various parameters, and access additional features. In the video accompanying this article, you can enjoy another of the latest additions to the Air range, the 20 Ultra.
