Spanish cities that already prohibit entry to cars with a B label into their Low Emission Zones

Currently, many cities with more than 50,000 inhabitants comply with the Climate Change Law and have Low Emission Zones (LEZs) that restrict traffic to the most polluting vehicles , usually those not entitled to a DGT environmental sticker. However, other cities are delaying their implementation or have cheated by installing their LEZs (LEZs) by placing them on the outskirts of their municipalities, as is the case in Seville.
However, there are cities that already prohibit access to cars with a B label , that is, diesel cars registered since 2006 and that only comply with the EURO 4 emissions regulations, as well as gasoline cars from 2001 onwards that meet the EURO 3 requirements.
Cities that already impose restrictions on vehicles with B labelsThe first is Madrid, which in its Special Protection Low Emission Zone (ZBEDEP) already prohibits the entry of vehicles with B and C environmental stickers, except if they are entering to park in a private or public parking lot . Next is Bilbao , which since June 15th no longer allows the entry of vehicles with B stickers, except in a series of exceptions.
The third is Getafe , which will restrict access to Class B vehicles from January 27, 2025 , the date its LEZ came into force. Furthermore, from 2026, cars with Class C stickers will only be allowed to circulate if they are heading to a parking lot, as is currently the case with Class B cars. Finally, Estepona (Málaga) also no longer allows entry to vehicles with Class B stickers .
Exceptions to entering the Bilbao LEZ with label BFirst, vehicles belonging to residents registered in the area before June 15, 2024 , as well as vehicles used for transporting people with reduced mobility and emergency vehicles, will be able to circulate within the LEZ.
Access is also permitted to those who have purchased a low-emission vehicle and are awaiting delivery, as well as to those accessing an authorized rotation parking lot. Special invitations and permits are also available for third parties to enter with vehicles with a B label or without an environmental label.
