Norris responds and takes pole position for the Mexico GP

McLaren driver Lando Norris made a statement this Saturday during qualifying for the Mexican Grand Prix, after taking pole position on the starting grid with a time of 1:15.586 , a great result in his quest for the drivers' championship where he sits in second place with 332 points, 14 behind his teammate, Oscar Piastri.
Lando, who had a consistent performance during free practice, demonstrated his driving skills with the lap that earned him pole position. On the other side of the garage, the story was not the same for his teammate Oscar Piastri , the current leader of the drivers' championship, who finished eighth in qualifying with a time of 1:16.174.
Second place in this Mexican Grand Prix went to Charles Leclerc , who received brake updates for this race and knew how to take advantage of the good performance of his Ferrari, as did his teammate Lewis Hamilton, who will start third tomorrow.
Meanwhile, it was a poor qualifying session for Dutchman Max Verstappen , who will start from fifth position behind Mercedes driver George Russell . The Red Bull driver has struggled with tire grip throughout the weekend, resulting in a time of 1:16.070 on the soft compounds.
Carlos Sainz finished seventh in qualifying but has a five-place penalty for his collision with Antonelli at the Austin Grand Prix.
The Mexican Grand Prix will start at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 26, and will be broadcast on Channel 5 on open television .
