Nearly 9,000 electric vehicles and more than 12,000 PHEVs: Plug-in passenger cars are on the rise in July.

Sales of plug-in vehicles (electric and plug-in hybrids, including passenger cars, quadricycles, commercial and industrial vehicles, and buses) maintained an upward trend, achieving a 152.5% increase in July, with 22,898 units, representing 19.28% of the total market. July saw another positive month, bringing the year-to-date total to 134,063 electrified units sold, a 92% improvement over the previous year and allowing sales to exceed the total achieved in 2024. Up to the seventh month, the electrified market represented 15.94% of the total market , 6.5 percentage points more than the previous year.
Regarding registrations of alternative vehicles (electrified, hybrid, and gas), they increased by 44.1% in the month, with 67,031 units sold, representing 56.43% of the market . For the year as a whole, they have accumulated 464,527 sales, 46.7% more than the previous year and representing 55.2% of the global market.
Electric Vehicles - Zero LabelPure electric vehicle sales increased by 117.6% in July , with 10,002 units registered. It represents 8.42% of the market share for the month . For the year as a whole, sales of these vehicles totaled 62,514 units, 83.8% more than in the same period last year. The year-to-date market share is 7.43%.
Plug-in hybrid vehicles - Zero LabelMeanwhile, sales of plug-in hybrid vehicles grew by 188.4% in July , reaching 12,896 registered units. It represents 10.86% of the market share for the month. For the year as a whole, sales of these vehicles totaled 71,549 units , 99.9% more than in the same period last year. The year-to-date market share is 8.51%.
Hybrid Vehicles - Eco LabelRegarding sales of non-plug-in hybrid vehicles, these increased by 15.5% in July , reaching 40,123 units registered this month. It represents a 33.78% market share in July. Year-to-date , sales of these vehicles have accumulated 294,763 units, 29.5% more than the same period last year. The total market share for the year is 35.05% .
Gas Vehicles - Eco LabelOn the other hand, sales of gas-powered vehicles grew by 49.5% in July, with 4,010 units registered, representing a 3.38% market share for the month. For the year as a whole, sales of these vehicles totaled 35,700 units , an 85.3% increase compared to the same period last year. The year-to-date market share is 4.24%.
Passenger car market (cars and SUVs)Registrations of plug-in, hybrid, and natural gas passenger cars increased by 43.3% in July compared to the same month last year, reaching 64,947 units delivered. In July, with 66.05% of the total market, these types of vehicles remained the preferred choice for users. For the year as a whole, they grew by 46.8%, with 452,225 units sold and 63.86% of the total market.
As for the plug-in passenger car market (electric and plug-in hybrid) , this once again registered significant growth, with 21,002 units sold, 154.8% more than the same month of the previous year and representing 21.4% of the total market , around 12 percentage points more than in July 2024. Pure electric vehicles grew by 127.1% to 8,691 units in the month, as did plug-in hybrids (PHEV), which increased their sales by 178.8% and 12,311 new units. And for the year as a whole , sales of electrified passenger cars totaled 123,315 units, 92.3% more than the previous year and accounting for 17.41% of the general market.

The fact that the market has sold more than 20,000 units and reached 20% of total sales is an important milestone, as is the fact that from January to July of this year, total electrified sales will already exceed those of 2024.
