Electric isn't the only way: Toyota also has neutral combustion cars that use synthetic gasoline.

Toyota Motor Corporation, Eneos Corporation, Suzuki Motor Corporation, Subaru Corporation, Daihatsu Motor and Mazda Motor Corporation announce that they will offer passenger vehicles using a synthetic fuel blend at Expo 2025 Osaka , Kansai, Japan , to transport guests and others around the grounds.
With support from the New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization (NEDO)'s Green Innovation Fund, Eneos will supply synthetic fuel produced in a pilot plant installed in September 2024 at its Central Technical Research Laboratory. This fuel will be used by guest transport vehicles supplied by Toyota and Mazda, as well as vehicles transporting other event personnel, provided by Suzuki, Subaru, and Daihatsu. As previously confirmed by Toyota, Suzuki, Subaru, Daihatsu, and Mazda, the synthetic fuel in question will function similarly to gasoline.
What are synthetic fuels?Synthetic fuels are clean energy sources developed from hydrogen derived from renewable energy sources and CO2, which can reduce CO2 emissions throughout the product's entire life cycle. As they are liquid fuels, they can leverage existing infrastructure and thus contribute to reducing CO2 emissions from internal combustion engines.
By using vehicles to transport guests and other passengers at the Expo, Toyota Motor Corporation, Eneos, Suzuki, Subaru, Daihatsu, and Mazda will promote the idea that vehicles equipped with synthetic fuel-powered combustion engines are a key mobility option on the path to carbon neutrality. Furthermore, they will contribute to achieving the Expo's sustainability goal, outlined in the Expo 2025 Green Vision.
