Driver's license applicants who have not applied will not lose their call.

Driver's license applicants who have not applied will not lose their call.

Driving test centers have returned to normal operations one day after the power outage, although applicants who were unable to take the exam on Tuesday will not lose their seat, the Directorate General of Traffic ( DGT ) has reported.

At this time, almost all communications (98%) have been restored, so the equipment is operating normally.

Variable message boards on the roads are already providing information , cameras are transmitting real-time traffic images, and the Lince incident system is working, as is the rest of the equipment, according to the DGT.

Traffic headquarters are also operating normally, and registrations and transfers are being processed, as well as any other procedures related to vehicles and drivers. Citizens who were affected by the service interruption while completing their procedures have had their appointments reassigned.

No significant incidents except at the entrances to the cities

The blackout did not cause any significant incidents on road travel, except for access to major cities due to the disruption of traffic lights, which caused increased traffic on the ring roads.

Throughout the afternoon and evening , many of the communications were restored , although unevenly, as the restoration of the electrical grid was gradual.

Aerial resources were deployed to the highways to report on the situation and take action, including intermittent road closures on the main access roads to Madrid.

For its part, the Civil Guard's Traffic Group reinforced its service and regulated access to cities in collaboration with municipal police, implementing specific roadblocks and prioritizing public transportation.

Officers also escorted convoys transporting fuel to hospitals and gas stations to ensure service.

The Traffic Department's message urging citizens to avoid unnecessary travel has been echoed and has been reflected this Tuesday, according to the DGT.

On the access roads to Madrid and the Valencian Community, rush-hour traffic has dropped by 7% compared to a typical weekday , while in Castile and León and Aragon it has behaved like a normal Tuesday.

In Andalusia , it has fallen by 14% in Malaga, 17% in Jaén, and 4.8% in Granada.

Three road deaths unrelated to the blackout

Regarding road accidents , there were three fatal accidents on Monday. One at 6:49 a.m. in Felanitx (Balearic Islands) and another in Jumilla (Murcia) at 7:25 a.m., resulting in one fatality in each.

In the afternoon, at 5:30 p.m., another fatal accident occurred in Sant Cugat de Vallés (Barcelona) when a motorcyclist went off the road on the AP-7. Neither incident was related to the blackout, according to the DGT.
