Sales of brand-new cars continue to increase month after month. July again saw high registration numbers . But August will bring increases from all the major brands selling in the domestic market.
Between January and July, 388,680 units were sold, representing a 71.5% increase over the same period in 2024, when 226,571 vehicles were registered. And projections predict that the threshold of 650,000 registrations will be surpassed this year.
The indicators so far are on the consumer side: a stable economic environment, elimination of taxes, and zero-rate financing from almost all automakers, among the most important.
But the eighth month of the year will start with marked increases in the official price lists of many companies: some of them will accumulate more than 10% , while others will go for 3% or 4%, according to Clarín .
The Consumer Price Index registered a monthly increase of 1.6% in June 2025, and due to upcoming price increases for new cars, the average will once again be above that index.

Several companies are finalizing their price lists for the eighth month of the year, which will be announced between today and Monday.

One of the first companies to announce price increases will be the Stellantis Group, the conglomerate that includes the Fiat, Peugeot, Citroën, Jeep, Ram, and DS brands in the country.
The Ford Ranger will see a 3.1% increase in August.
During August, Stellantis models will accumulate an average price increase of over 10%. This is due to a new list sent to dealers a few days ago, which reflected a 5.5% increase, and a second increase that will be reflected shortly.
The company explains that since last year, the devaluation has been 99%, while the group's cars have increased by 74%. They also anticipate that dealerships will offer promotions and bonuses so that the increases don't have such a severe impact on consumers.
Another company projecting price increases for the coming month is Ford , which just announced a new investment , with an average increase of 3% across its entire range. The breakdown of the increases shows that the Ranger pickup and Territory SUV will suffer a 3.1% increase, the Maverick SUV will suffer a 3.3% increase, the Everest and Bronco Sport 4x4s will suffer a 1% and 4% increase, respectively, and the Transit utility vehicle will suffer a 3.5% increase.
