A mechanic at the Spanish MOT warned: "You could get a fine and have your car impounded if you drive like this on the street."

A TikTok mechanic has warned drivers about the dangers of driving with tires in poor condition and the difficulty of passing the Vehicle Inspection (ITV). In a concise but highly educational clip, he explains that if a vehicle drives with completely worn tires, it not only exposes itself to a serious risk of accidents, but can also be fined and the car may be removed from circulation by the police.

It is mandatory to periodically pass the ITV technical inspection from a certain age of the vehicle.

In the clip, the mechanic shows a tire with excessive wear on the outside, where the tread has almost completely disappeared. "This tire is completely worn on the outside, the tread is gone, and the warning light came out a long time ago," explains the mechanic, who also points out that, although the tread on the inside of the tire is still visible, the condition of the outside is completely dangerous.

Furthermore, the mechanic warns that the severe tire wear could cause a blowout at any moment, as the wires are practically visible. "This tire could burst at any moment, and the wires are practically visible, so you can't drive like this," he states with concern. He emphasizes that if the police stop a driver with tires in this condition, they can issue a fine and, in the worst case, remove the vehicle from the road.

The mechanic also mentions that the tire on the opposite side of the car shows similar wear, suggesting problems with the vehicle's alignment, or the way the tires contact the road. "The tire on the other side is practically the same, completely worn on the outside because you can see the car is not properly aligned," he explains, warning that these problems must be resolved urgently to avoid further damage and fines, and to be able to pass the MOT without further complications.
