Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350: Limited-edition vintage appeal

Royal Enfield Goan Classic 350: Limited-edition vintage appeal

Royal Enfield is undoubtedly one of the fastest-growing motorcycle brands globally. In recent years, the Indian manufacturer has achieved impressive results virtually everywhere thanks to a clear and successful corporate philosophy : to offer reliable and essential motorcycles, without frills, focusing on a predominantly classic style and authentic flavor. A shining example of this vision is the new Goan Classic 350 , a stylistic and cultural tribute to the so-called bohemian movement that in the 1970s animated the beaches and streets of Goa, a small coastal state in western India.

During the flower power years, India returned to the international spotlight thanks in part to the famous visit of the Beatles , which triggered a wave of nonconformist fervor across much of the country. In that context, the Royal Enfield Bullet became a symbol of freedom and customization: a simple, robust single-cylinder bike that was decidedly open to modifications. The new Goan Classic 350 draws on that legacy, revisiting it with a modern twist. It does so with a design that nods to bobber style and boasts a solo seat (although a passenger seat is supplied as standard), spoked wheels, whitewall tires, a large circular headlight, and a bold two-tone paint scheme . The only available color scheme, called Trip Teal , mixes vibrant shades of aquamarine and orange that pair beautifully with the abundant chrome parts and the black finish of the engine. As is now customary at Royal Enfield, plastic is kept to a minimum: none has even been used for the control blocks, which are made of aluminum.

From a technical standpoint, the Goan Classic 350 follows the platform of the already well-known Classic 350. It is therefore powered by the same 349cc single-cylinder air- and oil-cooled J-series engine already used on the Bullet, Hunter and Meteor models, an engine known for its smooth and relaxed delivery, perfect for those who want to enjoy the road without rushing. Its numbers are not thrilling, but they reflect the model's vocation as an undemanding motorcycle: 20.2 hp at 6,100 rpm and 27 Nm of torque at 4,000 rpm. Among its qualities is its frugality in fuel consumption : for this unit, Royal Enfield declares an average of 2.8 l/100 km, a figure which, combined with the 13-liter tank capacity, suggests a range of around 450 km.

The double cradle frame is paired with a 41 mm upside-down fork and two preload-adjustable rear shock absorbers, providing 130 mm of travel at the front and 90 mm at the rear. The spoked aluminum wheels , 19" at the front and 16" at the rear, are fitted with tubeless tires featuring an elegant white sidewall. The braking system features a 300 mm disc at the front and a 270 mm disc at the rear, assisted by a dual-channel ABS system. The riding position is comfortable and relaxed, with a seat height of just 805 mm from the ground, while the kerb weight stands at 195 kg , or with a 90% full tank, an important figure evidently influenced by the choice to minimize the use of plastic materials.

In keeping with the brand's philosophy, the instrumentation also strikes a balance between tradition and modernity. The dashboard features an analog dial, an LCD screen, and the Tripper module for turn-by-turn navigation, already popular on other models from the Indian manufacturer. It also features full-LED lights and a USB-C port for charging mobile devices. The Goan Classic 350 will be available in a limited edition for Europe, with only 100 units destined for the Italian market. The price of €5,300 is quite attractive for those looking for an elegant and unconventional motorcycle, inspired by tradition and capable of standing out. Official accessories include a more refined custom seat, bar-end mirrors, a touring windshield, and Deluxe footpegs with rubber covers.
