Orders are lacking, prompting further disruption to the Stellantis plant in Cassino (Alfa Romeo and Maserati).

Stellantis has announced a new production shutdown at its Cassino plant, which will begin on July 25th and last until August 1st. This comes at a time when operations at the Body Shop and Painting plants have already been halted. However, work will not resume immediately after the shutdown ends, as all employees will begin their summer holidays. This means the plant could remain closed until almost September. The reason for the new production shutdown is very simple: a lack of orders.
The Alfa Romeo Giulia and Stelvio, as well as the Maserati Grecale, are currently produced in Cassino. However, the numbers are very low, so much so that work is being done on only one line. In the first half of the year, just 10,500 vehicles were produced, a 34% decrease compared to 2024. Current production is divided as follows: 26% Giulia, 49% Stelvio, and 25% Grecale (including a fully electric version). The unions are alarmed and have repeatedly expressed serious concerns about the future of a plant deemed strategic for Stellantis' operations in Italy.
