New Hyundai KONA 2024: Smart and connected technology for increasingly personal mobility

New Hyundai KONA 2024: Smart and connected technology for increasingly personal mobility

made of ease of use, intelligent connections and functions that truly improve the driving experience. In an increasingly crowded panorama of digital solutions that are often ends in themselves, the Korean B-SUV chooses a concrete and reasoned approach, placing the human being at the center. A passenger compartment where every technology has a clear purpose: to make the journey more intuitive, safer, more personal.

As soon as you sit in the driver's seat, the dual-screen system captures your attention. Two 12.3-inch panoramic displays, unified in a single slightly curved surface, welcome driver and passenger in a fluid digital environment. Everything is designed to be readable at a glance, with clean and customizable graphics. The new generation infotainment updates Over The Air and supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto wirelessly, eliminating the need for cables even for the most advanced functions.

But the real innovation lies in the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit platform, which integrates the vehicle data with the network. Connected navigation, real-time traffic updates, intelligent search for points of interest: the KONA is not just a car, but a window to the outside world, always active. Thanks to the Bluelink app, it is possible to remotely manage climate control, door locking, location and even the charge status (in the EV and HEV versions), transforming the smartphone into a natural extension of the car.

At the same time, the New KONA does not give up the physicality of the controls: the climate control and the main functions remain accessible via real buttons, a choice that looks at the user's comfort, especially while driving. Here too, technology is at the service of simplicity.

On the safety front, Hyundai has taken a major step forward. The ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) package of the new KONA is among the most complete in the segment. It includes the Highway Driving Assist (HDA) system, which combines adaptive cruise control with active lane keeping for second-level semi-autonomous driving, especially useful on long trips. There is also the Blind Spot View Monitor, which projects images of blind spots into the head-up display, and the Remote Smart Parking Assist, which allows you to maneuver the car into tight parking spaces directly from outside with the remote control.

The automatic parking assistant, emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist recognition, driver attention monitoring and intersection assistant are all functions that not only increase safety, but also relieve stress, giving the driver a reassuring sense of control.

And then there's the digital environment. The new dynamic ambient lighting system, combined with the driving functions, adjusts intensity and color based on the selected mode, making the in-cabin experience always engaging. The Bose audio system, available on the higher trim levels, transforms the compact SUV into a traveling concert hall.

The New KONA is also one of the few models in the segment to integrate USB-C front and rear, as well as a 12V socket, wireless charging and multiple connectivity. The user interface has been completely redesigned to be fluid and responsive, and this is also demonstrated by the interaction with voice commands, now more natural and precise.

In the EV version , technology takes on an even more central role. In addition to intelligent regeneration that adapts to speed and traffic, the V2L (Vehicle to Load) system allows external devices such as laptops, electric bicycles or small appliances to be powered directly from the car's battery. A detail that tells better than a thousand words the smart and multifunctional vision with which Hyundai interprets mobility.

All this is accompanied by a software platform that can evolve over time. With OTA (Over-the-Air) updates, the KONA can improve even after purchase, adding functions or optimizing existing ones. An approach typical of the digital world that is entering, in an increasingly mature way, the automotive sector.
