Geely unveils the Galaxy M9, a large six-seater SUV with a super hybrid plug-in (but not only)

MILAN – It is no coincidence that Geely, the Chinese group that in thirty years has climbed the global rankings in the automotive sector, has chosen Milan for the world preview of its Galaxy M9. This is the latest piece of a strategy that after the acquisition of Volvo, Lotus and Proton saw the birth of Polestar and Link&Co. A rapid and international growth that sees Milan among the places of interest, where Geely Auto inaugurated a design center two years ago that today has about sixty people, coming from four continents. It is in the Lombard capital that the interiors of this super hubrid plug-in luxury and large SUV were designed, under the guidance of an Italian. In the intentions of the Asian manufacturer, the Galaxy M9 is proposed as a new benchmark in the international panorama, given that the boundaries that this super SUV has given itself are planetary. Six extra-luxury seats with everything you can imagine to make life on board as comfortable and safe as that which you can experience sitting in your own armchair at home, indeed decidedly better.

Many other things about this M9 are there to remind us that the bar can always be raised higher. The six seats arranged in three rows for example, taking advantage of the fact that the length and height of the passenger compartment (3.7x1.3 meters) would allow you to park a small car inside without a hitch.
However, the Galaxy M9 is also Geely's first truly global car in terms of its strategic approach to the product. The taut external lines and rounded edges create an effect that makes this SUV, which is well over 5 meters long, appear less massive than the meter certifies. Furthermore, the introduction of the AI digital chassis and the G-Pilot H5 intelligent driving assistance system should be a further certainty of truly high performance, safety and interactions between man and machine.
The choice of Milan as the launch location is a consequence of Geely's industrial policy that the manufacturer itself has named "Five by five". It is a global strategic system that is made up of five style centers, five engineering research and development centers, five test areas, five modules for the development and fine-tuning of energy technologies and five intelligent ecosystems that base their activity on artificial intelligence. All this translates into a car that has grown with the ideas of professionals from all over the world.

Milan, as we were saying, is the place where the interior design of the Galaxy M9 was born, but it is not the only place where it was developed, because by taking advantage of the time zones, there are several centers that alternate in a continuous cycle on the development of each single detail, reducing the project times to a more than considerable extent.
And this is the case for every area in which the idea behind a new model is thought about and developed, creating a true melting pot that combines oriental tradition with international experiences and with the technology that comes from a global ideation process. All this leads the Galaxy M9 to have five different propulsion modes: high-efficiency petrol, pure electric, hybrid, methanol-hydrogen (unique and pioneering technology) and also the mode that involves replacing the battery pack. Accompanying the hybrid versions is the NordThor Super Hybrid based on artificial intelligence that guarantees record consumption (we are in the order of 4.8 liters per 100 km) despite an acceleration in the classic 0-100 of just 4.5 seconds.
