Fuel prices in Basilicata today, July 19, 2025: petrol, diesel, LPG, and methane

Today, July 19, 2025, the average fuel prices in Basilicata are as follows: gasoline, diesel, LPG, and methane. These prices are influenced by various factors, including excise duties and the cost of raw materials.
TYPE | DELIVERY | AVERAGE PRICE |
---|---|---|
Gas | SELF | 1,758 |
Diesel | SELF | 1,684 |
LPG | SERVED | 0.692 |
Methane | SERVED | 1,469 |
The price of gasoline is essentially composed of three components: the net cost of fuel, excise duties, and value-added tax (VAT). Specifically, the tax component represents approximately 58% of the final price, a significantly higher percentage than the industrial cost, which stands at around 42%. The industrial component is further broken down into the cost of the raw material and the gross margin. The raw material, which accounts for approximately 30% of the price, is influenced by international prices and the euro/dollar exchange rate. The gross margin, equal to 12% of the price, is the only factor that the operator can influence to adjust the price at the pump. Therefore, the price of gasoline is strongly influenced by external factors, making daily fluctuations difficult to predict.
For diesel, the situation is slightly different. The tax component for diesel is 45%, while the industrial tax component is 55%. Here too, the raw material significantly impacts the price, with international prices and the euro/dollar exchange rate accounting for 45% of the cost. The margin, which accounts for 10% of the price, is another variable that operators can use to adjust the pump price. This means that, while excise duties and taxes are a significant portion of the final cost, market factors and operator decisions can significantly influence the price of diesel. Understanding these dynamics is essential for consumers who want to optimize their fuel spending.
