Autobrennero prepares for 14 days of black dot

The Autobrennero machine is mobilized for the summer exodus. For those who do not want to find themselves in traffic jams, however, the best choice remains to avoid the days characterized by the highest traffic peaks. There are 14 black-marked days expected between July and August, all coinciding with weekends, 5 of which will simultaneously affect the northbound and southbound carriageways: 13 and 26 July; 6, 16 and 23 August. Those who cannot avoid traveling on those days can evaluate the time to leave. The evening and night hours are the least busy, but the Autobrennero forecast models indicate the expected traffic level for each time slot of each day. Many activities are aimed at guaranteeing the best possible service in all conditions: from the removal of all construction sites to the reinforcement of staff, from the dynamic configuration of the barrier at Brenner, to the lamination of incoming traffic. "To travel peacefully - observes CEO Diego Cattoni - it is advisable to travel informed. The Company's structure has developed a truly remarkable forecasting capacity. Autobrennero is able to indicate precisely to those travelling what type of traffic they will encounter. We have summer days in which the average traffic on the A22, which is anything but poor, doubles. Nonetheless, we remain faithful to our task: to guarantee the maximum capacity of the artery in maximum safety and we do so by adopting all the necessary measures both in terms of technology and personnel. Let's not forget that for our territories, which see tourism as an important induced activity, these large flows are lifeblood". "The machine that is set in motion to manage the summer traffic peaks - comments President Hartmann Reichhalter - is very complex. It requires preparation that begins many months in advance and involves numerous parties. Only in this way can we get to the summer without construction sites, which is far from a given. My thanks go to all of them. I am referring to the Company's collaborators, but also to the numerous other parties that contribute to safety: the Highway Police, Fire Brigade, Red Cross and White Cross. The capacity of the artery will be at its maximum potential and this will also help to alleviate the inevitable inconvenience caused by the work on the Lueg bridge, which for the first year impacts the summer season".
