Alfa Romeo Enchants FuoriConcorso 2025 with Racing Icons: The Beauty of Speed on Lake Como

Alfa Romeo Enchants FuoriConcorso 2025 with Racing Icons: The Beauty of Speed on Lake Como

From May 24 to 25, Alfa Romeo will be the absolute protagonist of the new edition of FuoriConcorso, the cult event founded in 2019 by Guglielmo Miani, which over the years has become an essential event for collectors, enthusiasts and scholars of the automotive world. The theme of the 2025 edition – Velocissimo – Italian Race Cars – pays homage to the all-Italian excellence in the field of racing cars, and who better than the Biscione brand could represent it?

For the occasion, Villa Sucota is transformed into a true “Casa Alfa Romeo”, where some of the brand’s most legendary masterpieces will be exhibited, many from the Museo Storico in Arese, others jealously guarded by private collectors. A living, concrete, emotional tribute to the sporting tradition that since 1910 has made Alfa Romeo one of the highest expressions of Italian sporting spirit.

From 6C 1750 to Nuvolari: Speed Becomes Myth

In this timeless setting, the scene will be dominated by the 1930 6C 1750 Gran Sport, a true icon of Alfa Romeo style and competitiveness. With bodywork by Zagato and powered by a supercharged six-cylinder engine, this car represents the perfect synthesis of form and function, beauty and efficiency. It is the same car that allowed Tazio Nuvolari to win the 1930 Mille Miglia, averaging 100 km/h and beating his teammate Achille Varzi in extremis, also in a 1750. A car that is not only a legend, but a symbol of an era in which racing was pure passion, a challenge to the limit, mechanical romanticism.

Giulia TZ2: the aerodynamic perfection of the Sixties

The journey through the decades continues with the stunning 1965 Giulia TZ2, one of the most sensual and sleek Alfa Romeos ever made. Designed by Ercole Spada for Zagato, built with a fiberglass body and tubular chassis, the TZ2 is a racetrack creature with the heart of an artist. Its 1.6-liter twin-cam engine, with dual ignition and dry sump, delivers 170 hp, enough to push it beyond 250 km/h. Not just beauty, but also glory: the TZ2 won its class at the 1000 km of Monza, the 12 Hours of Sebring, the Targa Florio and the Nürburgring. A car that embodies the perfect balance between innovation, lightness and aerodynamics, still celebrated today as one of the purest examples of functional design.

The Tipo 33 TT12: Absolute Power, World Domination

The heart beats faster in front of the 1975 33 TT12, the definitive weapon with which Alfa Romeo conquered the World Championship for Makes. The acronym “TT” stands for Tubolar Frame, while the “12” indicates the cylinders of the monstrous 3.0 V12 flat engine with over 500 HP. The 33 TT12 is a concentration of engineering, power and charisma. Aesthetically unmistakable thanks to its periscope and side fins, it dominated the '75 season with seven victories out of eight races, taking home a world title thanks to a dream team of drivers: from Arturo Merzario to Mario Andretti, passing through Jacky Ickx and Nino Vaccarella. A car made to win, designed to leave its mark, and perfectly succeeded in the enterprise.

Alfetta 159: the queen of Formula 1

Another gem on display is the GP Tipo 159 “Alfetta”, the car with which Juan Manuel Fangio won his first world title in 1951, following his teammate Nino Farina’s triumph in 1950. An evolution of the 158, the 159 was the last representative of the Alfa Romeo era in Formula 1 before it retired. With a 1.5-litre eight-cylinder supercharged engine capable of developing over 450 hp, it was one of the most powerful single-seaters of its time. Among its technical merits was the introduction of the De Dion suspension, which would inspire the name of the 1972 Alfetta road car. Just a few metres from Lake Como, it will be possible to admire this creature in all its elegant track ferocity.

33 Stradale: the return of the legend

Alongside the historic legends, Alfa Romeo will also bring the future of its legend to Villa Sucota, represented by the new 33 Stradale, unveiled in 2023 in just 33 numbered units. This handcrafted supercar, faithful to the 1967 model, combines cutting-edge technology, emotional lines and a soul that smells of racing. Approved for road use, it is also capable of top-level performance, without sacrificing comfort and everyday usability. It is a tribute to Alfa's history, but also a declaration of intent: the spirit of racing is still alive and pulsating strong.

Beauty that runs fast

Alfa Romeo arrives at FuoriConcorso 2025 not as a simple exhibitor, but as an authentic interpreter of the spirit of the event. All these cars are linked by a common thread of speed, elegance and engineering courage. From the Mille Miglia to the world circuits, from sculpted aerodynamics to extreme mechanics, each model tells a piece of Italian history, a fragment of collective identity. There is more than nostalgia: there is celebration, study, pure emotion.

The appointment is at Villa Sucota, on May 24th and 25th, for an experience that goes beyond the automobile: it is a journey into the imagination, a declaration of love for everything that runs, vibrates and inspires. It is the voice of the past that accelerates towards the future, with the same passion as always.
