This major brand is recalling more than 75,000 cars in France – here are the models affected

This is some bad publicity that Ford could have done without. As with all automakers, recall campaigns are part of the game. But they're piling up for the American giant, which was already caught up in an investigation in the United States earlier this year following numerous complaints from motorists. Some Ford F-150 pickup trucks, very popular on the other side of the Atlantic, are prone to major gearbox problems. Unexpected downshifts that can cause the rear wheels to lock have prompted authorities to investigate approximately... 1.3 million of these pickup trucks produced between 2015 and 2017!
The recall in France since the end of May is less extensive. But it still affects more than 75,000 vehicles, 77,722 to be precise. This time, there's no gearbox issue, but fluid leaks have been observed on several models. The L'Argus website, which contacted a spokesperson for the brand, specifies that the fuel line may be damaged due to friction with its protective support. This leads to gradual wear of the pipe, with the risk that it may eventually rupture. In this case, the loss of fuel can lead to a reduction in your car's power, or even, in the worst-case scenario, a fire.

How many models from the American manufacturer are affected by this problem? Four in total. These include the Fiesta, the popular Ford-branded city car; the Puma, its compact SUV; and the two utility vehicles, the Transit and Tourneo Courier. If you own one of these vehicles, you should check their production year.
The recall carried out by the brand concerns Fiestas manufactured between December 2021 and July 2023, Pumas manufactured between December 2021 and September 2024, and Tourneos and Transits produced between March 2023 and September 2024. In addition, Ford is required to notify you by email of the procedure to follow to have your car checked.
If you ever notice a liquid stain under your car or a fuel smell persists in the passenger compartment, don't wait to take it to one of the brand's authorized repairers. You can also, if in doubt, go to this page of the manufacturer's website: https://www.ford.fr/support/rappels . By entering your vehicle's VIN code – the 17-digit alphanumeric sequence found on the registration document – you will know directly if your Ford is affected by a recall campaign.
