These tips to adopt on the road to vacation to save fuel

Although fuel prices are currently relatively low , it's still worthwhile to try to limit your consumption. Simple actions that are good for both the planet and your wallet, before another weekend of departures and returns from vacation .
You can start by checking and adjusting the tire pressure if necessary:
"It's important, all year round of course, but even more so before going on holiday, because we know that when tyres are incorrectly inflated, this can lead to excess fuel consumption of 3 to 5%," Manuel Caillot, automotive journalist at Caradisiac, explained to BFMTV.
Another tip is to remember to maintain your vehicle by respecting the service schedule and possibly having a check-up before the big departure.
"A car with a dirty air filter or spark plugs in poor condition also consumes too much fuel, so it's important to have a car in good condition," notes Manuel Caillot.
Once you're on the road, in the heat, it can be tempting to quickly turn on the air conditioning. But this is actually a bad habit: it's better to first air out the vehicle by opening all the windows and then wait a while before turning on the air conditioning.
Also be careful not to exceed the outside temperature, which can be bad for your health and also poses a potential risk of thermal shock to the windshield. It is generally recommended to set the thermostat between 5° and 8° and not to exceed a 10° difference with the outside temperature.
Finally, with fuel consumption directly linked to vehicle speed, you can also reduce your speed to save on your fill-up.
On the motorway, driving at 110 km/h instead of 130 km/h can save up to 25% of fuel on a journey.
