Former Volkswagen France boss appointed head of Citroën to turn the brand around
Until recently, President of Volkswagen Group France, Xavier Chardon will lead Citroën from June 2.

Xavier Chardon, former head of Volkswagen France, was appointed head of Citroën on Monday, the Stellantis automotive group announced in a press release.

He will take up his duties on June 2 in order to "continue the momentum initiated by the brand in recent months," the manufacturer said.

Reporting to Jean-Philippe Imparato, Stellantis' Deputy CEO for Greater Europe, "Xavier Chardon will be tasked with capitalizing on Citroën's recent successes and accelerating the brand's transformation in a rapidly changing automotive environment," the automaker said in a statement.

Xavier Chardon, who was previously Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Volkswagen Group in France, began his career at Citroën in the 1990s, before joining the German group in 2012.

Thierry Koskas, who took over as CEO of the chevron brand in 2023, is leaving Stellantis.
