Xpeng unveils its new flagship, the P7 sedan

Chinese electric vehicle company Xpeng has unveiled its latest generation electric sedan, the P7, in Beijing. It aims to become the brand's new flagship thanks to its revamped design, outstanding range, and powerful, internally developed intelligent driving system.
Although the company has not yet revealed the final price of the vehicle, it is expected to be priced below 300,000 yuan in the Chinese market (around 40,000 euros at the current exchange rate, although in Europe the price is considerably higher), following the pricing strategy applied to the P7+, its mid-to-upper-range sedan launched in 2024.
Official sales will begin this month, although interested parties can pre-order today for 99 yuan, which will give them a 3,000 yuan discount upon finalizing their purchase.
The new P7 has generated a huge amount of excitement: in less than seven minutes, Xpeng announced it had received more than 10,000 pre-orders, reflecting the strong interest in the model in its home market.
The P7 began in 2019 with its unveiling at the Shanghai Auto Show and subsequent launch in 2020. It was the brand’s first sedan and quickly became one of its most popular models, with over 60,000 units delivered in 2021 and nearly 59,000 in 2022. In 2023, the model received a facelift with the P7i version, and more recently, in 2024, the P7+ was introduced, a variant focused on family use.
This new P7, however, represents a significant evolution over its predecessors. Its dimensions (5,017 mm long, 1,970 mm wide, 1,427 mm high, and 3,008 mm wheelbase) position it as a spacious and sporty sedan.
On a technical level, it stands out for incorporating three Turing AI chips developed by the company itself, with a combined computing power of 2,250 TOPS (trillion operations per second), matching the highest level present in its G7 Ultra SUV.

These chips allow the integration of artificial intelligence vision and language models (VLA and VLM), capable of interpreting the environment, anticipating traffic situations, and offering a more natural and intuitive driving experience, as well as preparing the vehicle for semi-autonomous driving. Furthermore, the VLM system gives the cabin a new intelligent dimension, adapting to the user's needs and voice commands.
Another highlight is its ultra-fast charging system, which allows for up to 525 km of range in just 10 minutes thanks to its 800-volt platform and 5C charging capacity batteries. The new P7 offers three range versions: 702, 750, and 820 kilometers, and will be available in single- or dual-motor configurations. The most powerful version can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds.
In terms of comfort, the model features a dual-chamber air suspension, providing a smooth ride and a low-profile, sporty aesthetic. It also debuts a movable central display, inspired by the development of the brand's Iron humanoid robot, reinforcing the vehicle's technological proposition.
This launch comes during a particularly busy year for Xpeng, which has refreshed several of its existing models (G6, G9, and X9) and launched new ones such as the G7 SUV. The brand delivered a record 36,717 vehicles in July, marking nine consecutive months of surpassing 30,000 units per month. So far in 2025, Xpeng has delivered 233,906 vehicles, a 270% year-over-year increase, and has already surpassed the total for 2024.
With these figures and the strong commercial launch of the new P7, the company is well positioned to achieve—and even exceed—its goal of doubling annual deliveries this year. In the first half of 2025, the brand delivered 197,189 vehicles, 279% more than a year ago and exceeding its registrations for the entire 2024 financial year.
