The most powerful Rolls-Royce in history, with 660 hp and 1,075 Nm of torque, explores the most visceral and unconventional side of luxury in Barcelona.

“The Black Badge Spectre is a statement of intent that reflects determination, power, conviction, and judgment, with one of the clearest and most determined purposes ever stated: to meet the expectations of the most powerful Rolls-Royce in history. It has been created in the image of our bravest and most intrepid clients, with meticulous attention to detail. The challenge for our engineers, designers, and craftspeople was to materialize their most dramatic and provocative vision of the intense and unwavering character of R&R through vivid details, contemporary craftsmanship, and cutting-edge mechanical technology. The result is the Black Badge Spectre: the alter ego of our marque, amplified,” explained Chris Brownridge, Chief Executive of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars.
If buying a Rolls-Royce is a statement in itself, acquiring a Black Badge is a statement of difference. Its customers are unique within the brand: they base their success on pushing boundaries and refuse to be defined by traditional codes of luxury. Their approach is different: they accept only the most exquisitely crafted products that convey unparalleled experiences, but they demand a dynamism and an unapologetic attitude that matches their lifestyle and their audacity. Therefore, their rigorous demands required a special and equally formidable engineering response for the most powerful Spectre (and the most powerful Rolls-Royce of all time). It had to be intense, immediate, and effortlessly precise.

This concept was realized with two innovations in the Spectre Black Badge's propulsion system. Although these features are new to a Rolls-Royce, they have a historical precedent. In aircraft powered by the legendary Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, including the Supermarine Spitfire, pilots could obtain an additional boost of power by pressing a switch on the throttle quadrant. The first new feature is the unique Infinity Mode, a tribute to the Infinity symbol used to represent a Rolls-Royce Black Badge. Activating the Infinity ∞ button on the steering wheel makes all 485 kW (659 hp) of power available, providing a more direct throttle response to the driver. Once this mode is activated, the dials become more vibrant to match the changing character of the vehicle.
The Spectre BB also features Energetic Mode, which allows the driver to experience intense, instant acceleration. From a standstill, the driver activates this feature by fully applying the brake and accelerator simultaneously, waiting for tactile and visual feedback indicating the car is ready before fully releasing the brakes. This temporarily amplifies engine torque to a historic 1,075 Nm, unleashing a surge of power that propels the car from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.

The British firm's chassis specialists introduced a series of changes to inspire customers to handle the Black Badge's unprecedented power with confidence and security. The steering feel has been increased, and the stabilization has been fine-tuned to generate more responsive steering inputs and reduce body roll in corners. Upgraded dampers also enhance vehicle control, reducing body dive when accelerating or decelerating. These improvements perfectly balance increased grip with the fluidity, ease of handling, and famous "magic carpet" ride that characterizes R&R.
The Specre Black Badge made its global debut earlier this year in a new Vapor Violet paint finish, a deep black violet inspired by the neon vibe of 1980s and 1990s club culture, a celebrated reference among many Black Badge customers. It was then launched dynamically and tested for press in Barcelona in the spring, with the first customer deliveries expected after the summer.

Among the most distinctive and unique visual features of the Rolls-Royce Black Badge is the Glacial Black painted bonnet, which creates a striking contrast that can be combined with the brand's 44,000 ready-to-wear colour palette. Alternatively, those who wish can develop a Bespoke shade reserved for their exclusive use, as the most unique and singular personalisation option the brand offers. The Black Badge Spectre also features a striking new 23-inch five-spoke forged aluminium wheel design. Available in a partially polished or all-black finish, its intricate geometry subtly indicates the technical complexity and exclusivity of this vehicle.
As with all previous Black Badge models, the mirror-polished gloss finish applied to the Spectre is presented in a distinctive dark finish, evoking its subversive, noirish character. This includes the distinctive Pantheon grille surround, the Spirit of Ecstasy and double-R Badge of Honour, as well as the door handles, wide side window surrounds and bumper detailing, all in a deep black tone.

And while the exterior of the Spectre Black Badge is characterized by its rebellious character, the interior is expressive and striking, featuring the most striking and provocative color combinations. The instrument dials can be customized with five color themes: Vivid Green, Neon Nights, Cyan Fire, Ultraviolet, and Synth Wave, allowing customers to harmonize the physical and digital surfaces.
In its second year of production, the electric Rolls-Royce model has cemented itself in the pantheon of the marque's super-luxury models, and with the debut of Black Badge, its extraordinary momentum will continue. Demand for the Spectre exceeded expectations, and by 2024 it was the second most sought-after Rolls-Royce globally and the best-selling model in Europe. It also included the second-highest level of Bespoke content per vehicle in the marque's portfolio, reflecting its importance within the contemporary offering of the Spirit of Ecstasy brand.

The manufacturer's research reveals that on average, Spectre owners drive approximately 6,400 kilometers per year, a figure comparable to that of previous two-door Rolls-Royces, such as the Wraith, the Dawn, and the Spectre's predecessor, the Phantom Coupé. This means customers only need to fully charge their car up to 20 times per year.
The vast majority do so at home, as it is predominantly a driver's car: almost all journeys are made by the owner alone, and only a quarter are also made with a front passenger, reflecting and highlighting the individualistic nature of the Spectre customer, a profile that enjoys the extreme power and electric agility of the 100% emission-free model of the quintessential luxury car.
