The JMEV Easy 3 has arrived and it's the cheapest electric car: it costs $2,774,500 less than the cheapest one until now.

A new Chinese car brand has launched in the country, JMEV , which arrives on the local market with the Easy 3 model, a small vehicle that becomes the cheapest electric car in Argentina.
The new company is the result of a partnership between Renault and the Chinese firm JMC. It enters our market through the Antelo Group, which also represents the Great Wall Group brands, including Haval , Tank , Ora, and Poer, as well as Changan and Mitsubishi .
This manufacturer, previously unknown in these parts, has a similar structure to many Chinese manufacturers, with a comprehensive production and development process that even includes the manufacturing of the battery for its models, which are all 100% electric.
The platform on which the JMEV models are produced is called Galaxy, a modular system for purely electric vehicles that can be expanded to sedans, SUVs, MPVs, crossovers and other types of architectures.
The newly arrived brand already has a network of appointed dealerships in Buenos Aires City, Greater Buenos Aires, Mar del Plata, Córdoba, Santa Fe, Tucumán, Chaco, and Mendoza. By 2026, it expects to have a network of 20 dealerships to provide sales and after-sales service throughout the country.
The JMEV Easy 3 is 3.7 meters long.The JMEV Easy 3 is powered by a front-mounted synchronous electric motor that delivers a maximum output of 50 kW (68 hp) and 125 Nm of torque. Due to its size, agile and quiet response in urban environments is not an option.
It features four driving modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and One Pedal. The latter allows for better use of kinetic energy during braking and regenerates electricity to the battery. Acceleration from 0 to 50 km/h takes just 4.5 seconds.
It is a compact car, ideal for urban traffic, measuring 3,720 mm long , 1,640 mm wide, 1,535 mm high and has a wheelbase of 2,390 mm.
Inside, the JMEV Easy 3 includes a 10.1" touchscreenIts 30.24 kWh lithium-ion battery has a cooling system that involves a coolant circulating through channels inside the battery pack to dissipate heat.
According to the manufacturer, this system is more efficient than air cooling and helps maintain the battery within an optimal temperature range to extend its lifespan. The range is up to 330 kilometers , according to the Chinese CLTC (China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle) standard.
The charger is located at the front of the car and supports both AC and DC charging, providing flexibility for both home charging and fast charging. According to the company, home charging can reach 80% in 6 hours, while fast charging can reach 20% to 80% in 40 minutes. The vehicle includes a home charger.
Inside, it features a 10.1-inch touchscreen integrated into the instrument panel with Mirror Link functionality via Bluetooth connectivity. The cabin offers automatic climate control and a height-adjustable, multifunction steering wheel, among other features.
The JMEV Easy 3 is the cheapest electric car in the country.In terms of safety, the Easy 3 comes with a reinforced structure and automatic shut-off of the electrical system and only has front airbags for driver and passenger , disc brakes on all four wheels with ABS and EBD, and an electronic stability control (ESC).
It also includes an electronic parking brake, hill start assist, tire pressure monitoring, ISOFIX anchors with 3-point seat belts, low-speed acoustic alert, 360° camera and rear parking sensors.
The JMEV Easy 3 will be sold in Argentina for US$18,900 . The first units will begin arriving at dealerships in mid-November. A US$500 deposit is required to reserve a unit, and the first 100 customers will receive a series of benefits, which will be detailed at each dealership.
In this way, the Easy 3 becomes the cheapest electric car in the country, below the Renault Kwid, which has a list price of $31,030,000 (about US$20,755, according to the official exchange rate of $1,495) and also below the BYD Dolphin, which sells for US$22,990. It would also allow it to enter the Top Ten of the cheapest cars on the market.
