Stellantis' new CEO visits the Vigo factory

Within Stellantis' strategy, one of its strongest pillars is its commercial vehicles. Here, the passenger car derivatives, or small vans, which roll off the assembly lines in Vigo, stand out.
The Galician plant, which has played an instrumental role in the expansion of these models and their achievement of market leadership, is capable of producing more than half a million units per year, and the vast majority of these are what are known internally as K-9s.
This model is the basis for the Citroën Berlingo, Peugeot Partner, Opel Combo, Fiat Doblò, and even the Toyota Proace City commercial vehicles, as well as their passenger and electric versions.
Antonio Filosa, who has just been named the future CEO of Stellantis, visited Spain today, continuing his round of visits after having stopped in France and Italy.
Filosa, who will take the reins of Europe's second-largest manufacturer starting June 23, was accompanied by Chief Operating and Commercial Officers Jean-Philippe Imparato and Luca Napolitano, as well as Anne Aboud, head of the commercial vehicle division at Pro One.
The company's executives met with the Spanish team, led by Marco Cane, director of the Iberian subsidiary, and José Luis Alonso Mosquera, director of the Vigo plant.
Together with other managers, they toured the factory and visited the Quality, Painting, Assembly, and Body Welding areas.
After the visit, Filosa said, "It was a pleasure to visit Spain today and meet the team firsthand. I'm impressed, but not surprised, by the commitment and enthusiasm of our colleagues, driven by a truly entrepreneurial mindset."
"I'm particularly excited about the CustomFit project, the new conversion and customization program that gives us the ability to perform commercial vehicle conversions directly in our production plants, ensuring the highest standards of quality and flexibility. The Vigo plant is a testament to our experience and maturity."
Finally, the Italian executive concluded that he was "convinced that together with the Spanish team we will achieve great things."
