New hybrid engines and 4x4 traction for the Dacia Bigster and Duster

Dacia is getting serious about the fastest-growing segment, the B and C SUVs, with a new range of engines for its Bigster and Duster models. The main new feature is the G 150 4x4 hybrid engine, a first for the brand that promises a unique combination of performance, versatility, and fuel economy.
This new engine is positioned as one of the most innovative offerings on the market. It is a bi-fuel LPG 4x4 hybrid that integrates two power sources.
A 1.2-liter, 140-hp mild-hybrid gasoline engine on the front axle is combined with a 31-hp electric motor at the rear. The system delivers a total maximum output of 154 hp.
Transmission technology is one of its strong points. The combustion engine is paired with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (EDC), which now features paddle shifters on the steering wheel for more precise control. The rear electric motor, meanwhile, features a two-speed gearbox, a solution that optimizes engine torque at low speeds and reduces fuel consumption on the highway by disengaging the rear transmission.
This hybrid system allows driving up to 60% of the time in 100% electric mode in urban environments, thanks to a 48V lithium-ion battery that recharges automatically during braking.
One of the greatest attractions of the G 150 4x4 hybrid engine is its ability to run on both gasoline and LPG (liquefied petroleum gas). The combination of two 50-liter tanks (one for each fuel) provides a total range of up to 1,500 km, eliminating refueling anxiety on long trips.
In addition to the range benefit, using LPG represents significant savings, as its price per liter is lower than that of gasoline, resulting in 30% lower fuel consumption. This engine is also more environmentally friendly, reducing CO2 emissions by 20 g compared to current 4x4 engines.
The new electric 4x4 drive system provides instant torque when a loss of traction is detected. To adapt to any situation, the Duster and Bigster will feature six driving modes:
Auto: The vehicle automatically manages the change between 4x2 and 4x4.
Eco: Maximizes fuel savings.
Snow: Safe driving on low-grip roads.
Mud/Sand: Optimized for soft terrain.
Lock: Ideal for very uneven terrain at low speed.
Hill Descent Control: Stabilizes speed on slippery descents.
In addition to the hybrid G 150 4x4, the Duster has completely renewed its engine range to offer more power and driving pleasure:
Hybrid 155: Replaces the Hybrid 140, offering even lower fuel consumption (4.6 l/100 km) and fewer emissions. Its hybrid system allows it to always start in 100% electric mode.

Mild Hybrid 140: Replaces the Mild Hybrid 130, using a 48V mild hybrid system that assists the gasoline engine, reducing fuel consumption and emissions.
Eco-G 120: A more powerful version (+20 hp) of the bifuel gasoline/LPG engine, maintaining Dacia's leadership in this technology.
To complement these mechanical improvements, the Duster features new trim levels. The Journey version receives new upholstery and a driver's seat with lumbar adjustment, while the Extreme trim level features black aluminum wheels.
The new Duster and Bigster with the G 150 4x4 hybrid engine will be available to order soon.
