Neither Dacia nor Renault: cars with low fuel reserves

Neither Dacia nor Renault: cars with low fuel reserves

Many drivers in Spain choose to squeeze every last drop of gasoline or diesel out of their cars, driving for several kilometers with the reserve light on. These last few liters of fuel allow owners to reach the nearest gas station to refill their tank, but the reality is that not all cars can travel the same distances if they're low on fuel, as a study has shown.

A report conducted by Marketwatch has determined which cars have the least reserve tank capacity and, therefore, can travel fewer miles if they are running low on fuel. Contrary to what many may believe, the reality is that the vast majority of vehicles on the disgraceful list are Asian brands, which often have a strong reputation among Spanish drivers.

The car with the worst reserve capacity on the entire market is the Hyundai Kona, which can travel just 60 kilometers on a low fuel tank. The South Korean brand 's SUV is followed by just one kilometer more by the Honda HR-V, while the last step on the podium is completed by two other Asian cars: both the Mazda CX-5 and the Kia Seltos can only travel 62 kilometers if the indicator light on the dashboard is on.

The Toyota Corolla Cross can only travel 64 kilometers on a full tank of fuel, while the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, and Honda CR-V can all travel 65 kilometers before coming to a complete stop. The first (and only) non-Asian car on the list is the Chevrolet Silverado, which, like the Honda Civic, can travel about 66 kilometers on a full tank.

Of course, these aren't completely accurate, as numerous factors come into play when it comes to fuel consumption . Whether it's the weather, the load in the trunk , or even the condition of the tires, the truth is that depending on the situation, the car's reserve tank will last more or less. Just in case, it's best to go to the nearest gas station as soon as the fuel light comes on to avoid running out of gas.
