Mitsubishi launches the ASX hybrid: 160 hp, 8-year warranty, and ultra-low fuel consumption

Mitsubishi launches the ASX hybrid: 160 hp, 8-year warranty, and ultra-low fuel consumption

Mitsubishi Motors is strengthening its offensive in the compact SUV segment in Europe with the arrival of the new ASX HEV, a hybrid version that represents a significant evolution in terms of efficiency, performance, and technology. This update marks a step forward in the brand's electrification strategy.

New, more powerful hybrid mechanics

The new ASX HEV features a 160 hp self-charging hybrid system, 10% more powerful than its predecessor, thanks to a 1.8-liter engine combined with an electric motor. It also improves engine torque, reaching 170 Nm, and significantly reduces the 0-100 km/h acceleration time: just 8.5 seconds, which puts it 1.4 seconds ahead of its predecessor.

One of the major advances of this generation is its new 1.4 kWh battery, considered one of the most efficient in its segment. This component allows the vehicle to operate in fully electric mode for much longer, especially in urban traffic, where it can reach up to 80% usage without consuming fuel, according to the brand. The result is a reduction in fuel consumption of up to 40%, in addition to a significant decrease in emissions. And to top it all off, the DGT Eco label on the windshield.

The driving experience is also said to have been improved, thanks to an improved transmission, which provides a smoother, quieter, and more efficient response. Added to this are operating modes such as e-Drive, which allows the electric motor to be powered by the combustion engine, or e-Save, designed to maintain battery charge above 40% for later use.

Finishes and prices

The range continues with the well-known Kaiteki and Kaiteki+ trim levels, which offer extensive technological equipment and attractive commercial positioning. With current promotions, prices in Spain start at €28,690 for the Kaiteki, while the Kaiteki+ is available from €32,890, both with special financing options.

Furthermore, the launch is supported by the new Mitsubishi Commitment, which extends the warranty and roadside assistance to eight years, consolidating the brand's commitment to reliability and customer peace of mind. Thus, the new ASX HEV presents itself as a solid, versatile option adapted to today's sustainable mobility demands.
