A four-year-old's wish: a multi-million-dollar bill: this is the Rolls-Royce with the Milky Way on its roof.

Rolls-Royce, the prestigious English car company, has just presented a unique version of its luxury SUV: the Cullinan Cosmos , a model created at the request of a four-year-old boy and characterized by having the Milky Way on its roof.

Specially commissioned by a Dubai family who share their son's fascination with the universe, the vehicle features hand-painted Starlight upholstery, painstakingly developed by one of the brand's artists over 160 hours .

The Cullinan Cosmos was ordered through Private Office Dubai, one of Rolls-Royce's international private offices, and was delivered just in time for a special occasion.

“We wanted to create something our family would remember forever: a Rolls-Royce that captured the essence of the cosmos and demonstrated that no dream is beyond reach,” the client said.

Seen from the outside, the Cullinan Cosmos's bodywork was painted in a pearlescent hue (Arabescato Pearl), evoking the glow of moonlight in a midnight sky.

Inside, the vehicle features the first completely hand-painted roof ever created for a Rolls-Royce model.

Painted entirely freehand, it depicts an ethereal interpretation of the Milky Way: the diffuse band of stars and cosmic haze visible in the night sky.

To create the luminous cloud formations, stars, and fog effect, the artist used more than 20 successive applications of acrylic paint, creating depth and dimension with a variety of brushes.

Once the painting was completed and sealed, individual perforations were made so that the fiber optic lighting kit would complement the contours of the artwork.

To ensure the galaxy continues beyond the roof, the cabin also features more hand-stitched details on the door panels, seats, and front fascia.

Rolls-Royce has not revealed the price of this unique example, but if a production Cullinan costs $400,000, it is likely that the Cosmos will easily exceed half a million dollars .

Launched in 2019, the Cullinan is the first SUV ever manufactured by the English brand. It measures 5.34 meters long, 2.16 meters wide, and 1.84 meters high, and weighs 2,735 kilos.

Mechanically, it is powered by a 6.7-liter twin-turbo V12 gasoline engine, producing 571 hp (850 Nm of torque) and achieving a limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph). It is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and has permanent all-wheel drive.

As in other models of the brand, the rear doors open in the opposite direction than usual. To facilitate passenger entry and exit, the suspension can be lowered up to 4 centimeters at the touch of a button.

The Cullinan is the second model developed on the "Architecture of Luxury" platform, made of aluminum and launched in 2018 on the Phantom model.

The name Cullinan, for its part, comes from the largest diamond ever known to have been found. The owner of the South African mine where it was discovered in 1905 was Thomas Cullinan.
