VW unveils the electric people's SUV at the IAA - this is what it will cost

The International Motor Show (IAA) will take place in Munich from September 9 to 14, 2025. FOCUS online, together with its media partners, will be reporting in this ticker from the exhibition halls and the public areas in downtown Munich.
1:15 p.m.: Three days before the IAA, BMW had already made a splash. The eagerly awaited iX3 electric SUV, with which BMW launches its "New Class," is thrilling fans and critics alike and offers many advantages to stand up to electric car competition from Tesla and China. Non-experts can marvel at the new powerhouse starting September 9th on Max-Joseph-Platz in front of the Bavarian State Opera.
Sunday, September 7, 12:00 p.m.: The countdown has begun. The International Motor Show (IAA Mobility) in Munich opens its doors with a press day on Monday, September 8. Trade visitors will flock to the exhibition halls in Munich-Riem starting Tuesday (until Friday, September 12). At the same time, the so-called "Open Space" in downtown Munich opens to the public on the 9th. Admission to all locations is free. The auto show ends on September 14, 2025.
2:00 p.m.: One day before the show opens, Volkswagen unveils the ID.Cross, an electric SUV based on the equally new electric Polo. While the Polo will be unveiled as a production-ready model, the ID.Cross is still a concept car ( more on that here ). The production model is scheduled to be shown in summer 2026 and launched on the market the same year. The SUV competes in the VW T-Cross class. The two models are only three centimeters apart in length, and the difference is even smaller in height. There is no official price for the car yet, but according to information from VW sources, it will be just under €30,000.
