This Formentor is the millionth Cupra

Cupra has reached the production of its one-millionth vehicle. The anniversary car is a Cupra Formentor, manufactured at the Martorell plant near Barcelona. It took the company only seven years to reach this milestone. Since its founding in 2018 as an independent brand within the Volkswagen Group, Cupra has developed into one of the fastest-growing manufacturers in Europe.

The Formentor is considered the centerpiece of the portfolio. It was the first vehicle to be fully developed by Cupra and is also the brand's best-selling model. The one-millionth vehicle is a Formentor e-Hybrid in matte Magnetic Tech. It features the new design language with a striking front end, triangular LED headlights, and an illuminated brand logo at the rear.

The interior has been redesigned, featuring redesigned elements on the console, doors, and instrument panel. The vehicle utilizes the latest generation of the plug-in hybrid drive system with a system output of 272 hp (200 kW). The drive combines a 1.5-liter TSI gasoline engine with an electric motor and a battery capacity increased to 19.7 kWh.

Cupra currently produces seven models. The Cupra Ateca launched in 2018, followed by the Cupra Leon and the Formentor. Later, the all-electric Cupra Born , the SUV coupe Tavascan , and the SUV Terramar were added. In 2026, the Cupra Raval is scheduled to expand the model range and appeal to new target groups as an urban electric vehicle.

To celebrate the production anniversary, Cupra is raffling off a Formentor e-Hybrid among its employees for three years of use. The vehicle will then be added to the company's historic collection. This is Cupra's way of honoring the employees whose work has made the brand's growth possible.

Production in Martorell plays a central role in the company's electric transformation. Together with partners from the Volkswagen Group, Cupra is investing around ten billion euros in the electrification of the Spanish automotive industry. Around three billion euros will go directly into the conversion of the Martorell plant.

The Group's new electric small car family, including the Cupra Raval and the Volkswagen ID. Polo , is scheduled to be manufactured there starting in 2026. A battery assembly facility is also being built with an investment volume of 300 million euros.

At the same time, Cupra is driving forward its international expansion. In 2025, new City Garages opened in Vienna and Manchester, and the brand now operates a total of twelve such locations worldwide. Cupra is also exploring market entry in the Middle East to further expand its global presence.
