Frank Sieren: Chinese build cars in black factories – robots don’t need light

At the IAA in Munich, competitors from China are showing what they're capable of. They've already effectively surpassed the German manufacturers – even in terms of efficiency, says journalist and author Frank Sieren.
And suddenly they are there: At the International Motor Show in Munich, the German car industry finds itself virtually surrounded by the Chinese in its home market.
No wonder, says China expert Frank Sieren. Because Chinese manufacturers are not just cheaper, they also produce more efficiently, reports Sieren, who has lived in China for more than 30 years, on the YouTube channel "René will Rendite."
In his new book, "The Car Shock ," Sieren describes the speed with which the Chinese are now achieving this with cars. For example, there's the fully automated car factory of mobile phone manufacturer Xiaomi, where no lights are on and a vehicle rolls off the assembly line every 76 seconds.
